Just because I haven't been able to post doesn't mean I haven't been buying and trying new things. Pictured above are some things I've accumulated in the past few months. Some have already been tested, some not. I was pretty excited with the release of the L'oreal 'dupes' for YSL's Glossy Stains, I have 8 of them and have been wearing it non-stop. Admittedly, I went a little overboard :) I think these are a good alternative, there is a big difference in price ($8-10 vs $32) so I'm all for spending less for something so similar. I am probably one of the last people to try the Sensual Skin Enhancer from Kevyn Aucoin. I have stayed away due to the mineral oil, but since discovering that it doesn't clog or irritate me, I've jumped on the bandwagon. I have heard that this has a learning curve, and I completely agree. It does take some getting used to, but it is worth it. SX06 was the shade I initially purchased and for a while it was perfect, but I eventually needed a lighter color so I swapped for SX03 and I love how I can customize it to my needs.
The Fluidline Brow Gelcreme from MAC I just tried on today and I really like it. I was afraid that it would be too pigmented and difficult to work with but it was not at all. The formula is thicker and more mousse-like than the KATE version I've been using. I am not entirely sure about the color I was matched to though. Dirty Blonde looks a smidge too warm.. Becca's Radiant Skin Satin Foundation was a surprise as well. The finish reminds me of Estee Lauder's Invisible Fluid except with more coverage. It is very kind to dry and even flaky skin. I've found that one layer won't accentuate dry areas but adding another will.
Aside from the L'oreal Balm Stains, my most recent drugstore buys have not been very successful. The two concealers, NYX HD in green and Revlon Colorstay (new for Spring 2013 I believe), are just okay.. nothing special in my opinion. The Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara WP is very dry and although it lengthens, the shade itself is not dark enough so my lashes doesn't look defined at all. I still prefer the Maybelline Cat Eyes, which I have been using almost exclusively for months now. I have and will continue to repurchase.
The last 3 items- Shu Brightening Mousse, Cathy Doll CC Cream, Addiction Revenge & Amazing powder blushes I have only tested on my hand so more on those later..
Thanks for stopping by! :)
