Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro

I'm really loving all the liquid lipstick releases the past few months and prior to testing Armani's Lip Maestro, Guerlain's L'extrait was my top pick. But even though the formula is excellent, I found Guerlain's $48 tag price a bit difficult to swallow. Thankfully, Armani released a cheaper ($32) and in my opinion, better option. Lip Maestro is described as a matte lip stain with a comfortable velvety texture.

Truthfully, I had a hard time just buying two. The formula is simply excellent, so pigmented and very light on the lips. It is quite similar to the L'extraits but the biggest difference is that the Lip Maestro does not truly ever set. The velvety, silicone feel (much like a primer, except on your lips) lingers until it transfers completely off. I personally don't mind the transfer because it is so pigmented that this takes a while and re-application is a breeze.

The swatches (on the arm and lips) were 2 layers and as you can see, there are no bald spots. I purposely did not do any clean up on the arm swatch to show how opaque and buildable these are. I've experienced no drying effects on my lips in the 1 week or so that I've worn the Lip Maestros. 501 (Casual Pink) is a pretty everyday shade. I love my deep reds and berries but sometimes I just want a color that I can swipe and go. 201 (Dark Velvet), I bought to replace the discontinued Chanel Dragon. Its beautiful and I'm thrilled to find something so similar in a formula that I love.
