Part of Chanel's Holiday collection, Harmonie du Soir (Evening Harmony) contains four eyeshadows in gold, taupe, violet-plum red, and pale pink. Even though the combination is not unique, I was inexplicably drawn to it. Other holiday offerings from different brands (Guerlain, Shu Uemura) are similar so narrowing it down was difficult. The formula is not the same as the regular Chanel eye shadows, but more comparable to Topkapi from last year.
Harmonie du Soir has a pigmented and soft, buttery texture. Although all the shades have some sort of shimmer and/or frost in them, I found the taupe and reddish plum to have less than the gold and pale pink. I didn't have any exact dupes, but I thought a comparison might be helpful..
All of my other gold shades are very warm compared to Chanel's.
The taupe in Harmonie du Soir seemed like it would be relatively easy to find something similar but mine all either have too much brown or purple.
The violet-plum red is quite different from anything I have, blush or eye shadows.
Slightly blurry shot to better show the difference- MAC Jest is the closest but is still not light enough.
Overall, I love Harmonie du Soir ($65). It is limited edition so if you are interested, I would pick it sooner rather than later.
Any favorite holiday collections?
