Vitamin C is important to the body's immune system and helps to fight free-radical damage. We, as human beings, do not produce vitamin C internally and have to rely on food and supplements for it. Kiehl's Powerful Line-Reducing Concentrate ($56- 1.7oz) contains 10.5% of pure vitamin C. According to the Kiehl's website, this serum helps to improve the skins' texture, tone, and helps with lines and wrinkles.
Now, vitamin C is a prime ingredient of collagen, which binds our cells together. Collagen, is something that we have an abundance of when we're young and that is what gives the plump and healthy look to our skin. But as we get older, we produce less collagen and that results to wrinkles and sagging skin. (End of the science lesson promise!)
This serum comes in a plastic pump bottle and comes out a white color. The texture is creamy and has an almost silocone-y feel on the skin. The list of ingredients is fairly short and is always a plus for me (I will paste the ingredients at the end of the post).
Here is a look of how the product looks like when pumped out:
I've been using this serum every night for about 3 weeks now and I can say that it has made a real difference on my skin. The glow and radiance it gives cannot be matched by any high-end foundation or make up. If you have never tried a Vitamin C serum before, I suggest asking for samples first and trying it since 10.5% might be a bit too much for someone trying it for the first time. And although $56 is not the most I've ever paid for a skincare item, it is also not cheap so try it first and see if you like it.
